Sikh Coalition 2004-05 Annual Report Now Available

Dear Friend,

Your generous support has made our defense of the Sikh identity possible. Today, I write to share with you our achievements of the last year and underscore the work yet to be completed. You can read about last year's progress in the Coalition's 2004-2005 Annual Report, and I also encourage you to visit www.sikhcoalition.org to learn about our many other outstanding initiatives.

Together, over the last four years, we have laid the foundation for an organization that will defend the interests of the Sikh community for decades to come. The challenge before us is to institutionalize this work so that we not only react to defend the rights of Sikhs but also proactively work to educate others and involve Sikhs as part of the civic process. Toward this end, last month we hired a Community Advocate (bringing our number of full-time staff to two.) The advocate will work to organize the New York City Sikh community around a common civil rights agenda and partner with government to address the community's concerns. We hope that the work we do in New York will be a model that we can replicate in other cities across the country.

We will only be able to institutionalize our work with your continued support . I ask that you become a "Community Pioneer" and contribute to the Coalition through a recurring donation. Recurring donations enable us to have a predicable stream of funding and allow us to focus on doing work rather than fundraising. At the end of the campaign, we will honor the generosity of all our Community Pioneers by commemorating their contributions on a permanent plaque in our Manhattan office. Our goal is to raise $15,000 per month in recurring donations. No amount is too small. You can make a difference today by completeing the attached donation form.

On behalf of our entire team, I hope that you will take this opportunity to financially support the Sikh Coalition and its work to ensure that Sikhs identify will always be defended and honored. Your contributions can help sustain our efforts and ensure that we can continue to achieve new milestones for the Sikh community. All contributions to the Sikh Coalition are fully tax deductible.

With much appreciation, Prabhjot Singh Acting Executive Director View 2004-2005 Annual Report Online | Download PDF
