Sikh Presenter’s Course – Apply Today!

Dear Supporter,

Have you ever given a presentation on Sikhi? Would you like to learn more about doing presentations in your child's school? The Sikh Coalition invites you to participate in the first Sikh Presenter's Course in the DC Metro Area!

The Sikh Presenter's Course is a 3 day series of workshops designed to train Sikh community members on how to professionally deliver Sikh Awareness Presentations. The workshops will be led by trained professionals well-versed in teaching individuals effective presentation and public speaking skills. The three-day course will be held in Falls Church, Virginia from June 9 - 11.

The first and second Courses were held in New York City, and the third Course was held in Fremont, CA earlier this month.  Due to the overwhelming positive response we received from previous attendees, the Coalition is bringing the Course to the DC Metro Area.

Sikh Presenter's Course

When: Saturday, July 9 to Monday, July 11
Where: Falls Church, VA

Why should I apply?

Application Criteria:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Consider yourself a Sikh role model
• Strong passion to educate others about Sikhism
• Have the time and ability to deliver presentations at least twice a year
• Possess some prior knowledge of Sikhi
• Comfortable speaking in a large group
• Responsible and committed
• Public speaking experience a plus

Attendees: The Sikh Coalition is dedicated to bringing you a high quality training course. For this reason, we will train no more than 15 people to be Sikh Awareness Presenters. While we would like to offer this course to many more participants, we want to provide a low facilitator-to-participant ratio.

Schedule:

Day 1 - Saturday, July 9 - Training on vital public speaking and presenting skills
Day 2 - Sunday, July 10 - Training on how to relate key concepts in Sikhi
Day 3 - Monday, July 11 - 1 hour Evaluation

Evaluation: There will be an evaluation on Monday, July 11. Course participants will be assessed on their abilities to effectively deliver a Sikh Awareness Presentation (to various audiences). Those that pass will be certified by the Sikh Coalition to deliver these presentations in their local community.
