Sikhs Meet Legislators in Sacremento to push Sikhi Curriculum

This week, I had an opportunity to accompany 7 members of the local Sikh community to Sacramento (California's state capital). Our goal? To persuade the State Education Committee to adopt education on Sikhi as part of the mandatory history and social science curriculum in k-12 public schools!

California Sikhs Take Action on Kirpan Bill

Yesterday evening, we asked California's Sikhs to help us ensure safe passage of the kirpan education bill by emailing the Committee on Public Safety. Within 24 hours, more than 150 of you have already participated in the campaign.

Legal Director on Panel Discussing Japanese Internment Case

On Friday, I participated in a panel at UC Berkeley's law school commemorating the Korematsu case, in which the U.S. Supreme Court upheld the federal government's actions in interning thousands of Japanese-Americans during the Second World War.
