New York, New York (February 18, 2008) - Have you caught a flight from a United States airport lately? Did you remember to tell us about it? If not, now's the time.
Click here to report your flying experience.
Last October, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) created a new policy for checking religious headwear at American airports. Since then, we have been asking all Sikhs to tell us about your experiences - good or bad - when you fly. The idea is to monitor how the TSA's new policy is being implemented on the ground.
Thanks to all of you who have filed reports on the Sikh Coalition's online database. As a result, we have been able to present TSA officials with real community concerns and feedback on their new search policy.
With your continued help, we hope the TSA can address more issues around the country. The Sikh Coalition will be compiling data from all of the reports we receive and publishing the information in a quarterly TSA Report Card. That way, with your help, we will be able to identify patterns and areas of concern.
The TSA administrators have been open to our feedback, but we need to continue our work to ensure that Sikhs are equally protected when they walk through an airport. Now is the time to help us ensure that Sikhs enjoy their full rights by reporting your air travel experience to us.
