(March 6, 2007) The Sikh Coalition is pleased to announce the release of the fourth and fifth versions of "The Sikhs" brochure in French and Portuguese. This professionally designed resource is now available in five languages: English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, and Turkish.

The brochures are available to members of the community, activists and organizations seeking to promote education about Sikhs and the Sikh identity. They can be used as a part of training different profit and non-profit organizations, government agencies, educational institutions or the general public. They are also a valuable resource for taxi cabs, gas stations, grocery stores or other businesses and professions with significant interaction with the general public.

The Coalition would like to thank the Munshi Bishan Singh Kochhar Foundation, whose generous grant made possible the production and free distribution of these brochures.

The Sikh Coalition has produced and distributed over 10,000 copies of the English version of "The Sikhs" brochure in the last two years. These brochures have been used in well over a hundred events aimed at educating businesses, police, government agencies and employees, teachers, school officials, students, and all cross sections of the general public. The Coalition has also been involved in educational activities ranging from developing school curriculums, to assisting government agencies in combating religious and racial discrimination.

To obtain free copies of the "The Sikhs" brochure, send an email to education@sikhcoalition.org with your: mailing address, contact phone number, number of copies and language, and a description of how do you intend to use the brochure.
