Every Voice Counts !

To help Sikhs announce their presence to schools, city councils, and state and national governments, the Sikh Coalition has initiated "Every Voice Counts" - a campaign to empower the Sikh people.

Today, religion is not recorded by the census. In addition, there has been no clear mechanism to track Sikh voting. As a result the voice of Sikhs in America has been severely underrepresented and we have limited our ability to interact and affect government.

For Citizens the first step is to Register to Vote. By registering you announce your presence, and that of the Sikh community, to government officials at all levels.

Even if you are already registered, please click here to record yourself as a Sikh voter. This will increase government awareness of Sikh constituents.

If you are not a United States citizen, that doesn't mean you don't have a voice! Click here and ensure policymakers know that you exist and are concerned about issues affecting Sikh-Americans.

Launch Voter Registration at Your Gurdwara

Interested in doing more? Launch a Voter Registration Drive at your gurdwara. We'll keep tally of how your Gurdwara is doing and send out awards of recognition to the top performing gurdwaras. Awards may include certificates, plaques of recognition, or even a visit from a state or congressional official. Simply email everyvoice@sikhcoalition.org and we'll contact with you all the materials and resources you need.
