Pictured here is H. Guy Collier, a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP (MWE) and Amandeep Singh Sidhu, an Associate. Guy is the Chairman of the Firmwide Pro Bono and Community Service Committee. With MWE's support, Amandeep initiated a pro bono initiative with the Sikh Coalition. In 2008 MWE donated over $79,000 worth of legal work to the Sikh Coalition. Thus far in 2009, MWE has donated over $150,000 in pro bono service to the Sikh Coalition. In fact, over 15 attorneys at MWE have worked with Sikh Coalition matters on a pro bono basis. MWE has played a critical role in ensuring Transportation Security Administration policies are respectful of basic civil rights and liberties as applied to Sikh Americans. MWE is also lead counsel for the campaign to ensure Sikh Americans may freely serve in the U.S. Military. |
