The Youth Empowerment program engages Sikh youth in working class communities in the United States to promote youth leadership.

The Sikh Coalition believes that all children should enjoy a safe and nurturing environment at school. Unfortunately, weaknesses in state and federal law allow public schools to ignore the plight of Sikh Amercan children who suffer bias-based bullying and harassment.

The Sikh Coalition's youth group, the Sikh Youth of New York was founded in Richmond Hill, Queens to address issues affecting Sikh Youth in working class neighborhoods. The SYNY works to develop leadership skills through Campaign Development in order to mobilize themselves and their communities around issues they face.
