Dear Supporter,

August 5th will mark the five-year anniversary of the horrific tragedy that took the lives of six Sikh community members in Oak Creek, Wisconsin and injured several more.

Like you, I remember exactly where I was when I learned that there had been a shooting inside a gurdwara in Wisconsin on that fateful Sunday morning in 2012. Like you, I promised I would never forget, and I remain deeply inspired by the courage, resilience and perseverance the Sikh community in Oak Creek has shown.

We hope you can honor that resilience by attending the annual Chardhi Kala 6K Memorial Run and Walk in Oak Creek. The event will be held on the August 5th anniversary to honor those injured and in remembrance of those whose lives were taken: Paramjit Kaur Saini, Sita Singh, Ranjit Singh, Prakash Singh, Suveg Singh Khattra and Satwant Singh Kaleka.

To register for the event, please click here. Please also visit the Chardhi Kala 6K Facebook event page, and share it using #RememberOakCreek.

We hope to see you there as we draw strength on this anniversary and continue our work together to create a better America for the generations that follow.

Chardi Kala,

Sapreet Kaur
