Dear Supporter Ji,

The Sikh Coalition is excited to launch the Sikh Coalition Kid’s Corner, a virtual learning series for Sikh children and their classmates. During this difficult time when many schools are closed, these online sessions will be facilitated to bring Sikh students and their classmates from across the country together to stimulate learning through diverse literature, music, and art.

The first virtual session will be hosted on the Sikh Coalition’s Facebook Live feed this Wednesday, March 25 at 2:00 PM EDT / 1:00 PM CDT / 11:00 AM PDT. The first session will feature the remarkable author Raakhee Mirchandani, who will engage elementary school-aged children in a reading and discussion of her book Super Satya Saves the Day. The book is an empowering story of a young Sikh girl and her family.

From this week forward, the Sikh Coalition will look to host at least one virtual learning session every Wednesday. In order for this to reach as many children as possible, we need your help!

  1. Share the launch of this virtual learning session on social media so that we can help get the word out. Here is a graphic promoting the session that is perfect for you to share.
  2. Share the launch of this virtual learning program with your khalsa school. Here is an image to send a quick email or WhatsApp message notifying them of the details.
  3. Share the launch of this virtual community learning session with your children’s teachers. Here is some easy-to-use email language to send your teacher now.

The learning session will run live on Facebook, but it will also be recorded as well! We will share the recording with you later this week in case you miss it in the hopes that you will still be able to engage and share.

During this unprecedented time, we hope that this initiative will encourage learning through diverse and inclusive materials. If you have ideas, feedback or recommendations for content, please don’t hesitate to email We will be announcing the next several virtual learning sessions in the days to follow.
