May 13, 2025 (Nationwide) — The Sikh Coalition continues to add information about immigration with a new resource: Community FAQ: Green Card Holders’ Rights, available in both English and Punjabi.

This resource walks through the basic rights and responsibilities of green card holders in the United States as well as answers general questions such as grounds for deportation and advice for documentation. It also includes a significant portion providing guidance for concerns around international travel.

Since February of 2025, the Sikh Coalition has put together a library of English and Punjabi resources for the sangat to explore immigration questions and needs, including our “Know Your Rights: Immigration” and “Know Your Rights: Immigration Guidance for Gurdwarae.” We have also created fully designed digital versions of both documents, as well as printable flyers of each page for community use.

Please note that none of these resources are intended as legal advice. The Sikh Coalition does not provide direct legal aid on immigration cases, but if you are in need, you can contact our legal team and we may be able to offer you a referral. Another useful resource is immigration ‘red cards,’ which can be used to reiterate your rights to ICE agents—especially for households that include undocumented family members; you can request red cards in both English and Punjabi from the Sikh Family Center.

As always, the Sikh Coalition urges you to practice your faith fearlessly.
