September 3, 2026 (Nationwide) — Sunday, September 20, is National Sikh Voter Registration Day! On that Sunday, we are encouraging gurdwarae across the country to confirm as many of their sangat members are registered to vote as possible.
To assist in this goal, we are excited to share several resources and updates.
GOTV Center: As a reminder, the best tool for helping your sangat get civically engaged in advance of the November midterm elections is our GOTV Center, which anyone can access at thesikh.co/GOTV-2026. Use the GOTV Center to check your registration, see upcoming election deadlines in your area (including early and absentee voting), and learn about candidates on the ballot.
Call for Sevadaars: In advance of National Sikh Voter Registration Day, the Sikh Coalition is seeking additional volunteers to participate in our GOTV work—including by writing nonpartisan postcards to Sikh voters, participating in nonpartisan phone banking, or registering voters at your gurdwara! To learn more, please reach out to community@sikhcoalition.org.
Flyers and Resources: The Sikh Coalition has multiple flyers with important information about voting that you can print and take to your gurdwara, Punjabi-owned businesses, and anywhere else that sangat gathers. Our GOTV Flyer includes links to our GOTV Center and other resources, with both English and Punjabi text. Another flyer, originally designed by our partners in the Election Security Response Network but translated by the Sikh Coalition team, focuses on the national nonpartisan election interference hotline (866-OUR-VOTE). Additionally, don’t forget to read through our ‘Know Your Rights’ document, which is available in English and Punjabi.
2026 GOTV Fellows Announced: Finally, a few weeks ago, we were excited to welcome our 2026 cohort of GOTV Fellows! These young Singhs and Kaurs are located across the country in North Carolina, New Jersey, Wisconsin, and Michigan. Over the next few months, they will engage their sangats on voter registration, share resources, and create individual projects to aid in voter education and civic engagement.
Between now and November 3, we look forward to sharing additional nonpartisan resources and information via email, WhatsApp groups, and social media. We remain committed to working together with sangats across the nation so that Sikhs of all political views and backgrounds can make their voices heard this election.
As always, the Sikh Coalition urges you to practice your faith fearlessly.
