July 29, 2026 (Nationwide) – The Sikh Coalition’s 2026 Mid-Year Impact Report highlights how the organization has advanced civil rights for Sikhs nationwide since the start of the year. From fighting for the rights and livelihoods of Sikh truck drivers and expanding our immigration work, to ensuring Sikhi is taught accurately in public schools and beyond, we continue all of our work so that Sikhs can practice their faith fearlessly.

The report highlights four key areas in which the Sikh Coalition has made critical progress across so far this year:

  • Truckers’ Rights – Fought federal and state rules threatening the livelihoods of Sikh truck drivers, including via high profile legal action
  • Holding ICE and DHS Accountable – Advocated for oversight of federal immigration enforcement and expanded English and Punjabi resources for families
  • Creating Safer Classrooms – Advanced accurate teaching of Sikhi, from new state standards victories to corrected textbooks to new lesson plans
  • Safeguarding Civil Rights Nationwide – Responded to a wave of hostility towards Sikhs

Additionally, the report looks ahead to the remainder of 2026—including our new political leadership training program, Get-Out-The-Vote efforts, and plans to commemorate 25 years since 9/11 and the Sikh Coalition’s founding.
