Neha Singh Gohil joined the Sikh Coalition in 2007 and before leaving in 2011 worked as the Western Region Director. Neha is a journalist and a civil rights attorney based in in the Bay Area of California. Prior to working with the Sikh Coalition, Neha was in corporate practice with Allen & Overy LLP. Neha’s work has been published in the New York Times, the Kansas City Star, the Contra Costa Times, the Young Lawyer, and the Orlando Sentinel, among others. She writes regularly for Sikhchic.com. Her areas of interest include religion, politics and international affairs reporting. From 2004 to 2007, Neha was involved with the representation of 11 Yemeni men being held at Guantanamo Bay. Neha is a graduate of Yale Law School and also holds an M.Sc. in Journalism from Columbia University. She completed her undergraduate degrees in English and International Relations from the University of SouthernCalifornia.
Neha is the co-author of Civil Rights in Wartime: The Post-9/11 Sikh Experience, published by Ashgate in 2009.
