Sahel Kaur joined the Sikh Coalition as a Senior Staff Attorney in January 2024. In this role, she supervises attorneys and provides expert legal assistance to Sikhs who have been discriminated against on the basis of their Sikh identity, including in hate crime, school bullying, profiling, workplace discrimination cases.

Sahel represents clients on a variety of civil rights issues, including securing accommodations for Sikh articles of faith, advocating on behalf of hate crime victims to ensure law enforcement adequately understands and addresses anti-Sikh bias, and challenging discriminatory practices in private and public sector employment.

Prior to joining the Sikh Coalition, Sahel was a Staff Attorney at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit; previously, she was an Associate at Covington & Burling LLP in Washington, D.C.

Sahel holds a B.A. in Political Science from NYU, and a J.D. from Duke University School of Law.
